Background Information

Kendlebell was established in June 2006 after the founders identified a niche for a quality outsourcing solution provider for SME businesses in Ireland. Led by Tom Shanahan, Kendlebell set up their first office in Fairview, Dublin 3 but since then, further franchises have been setup in Kimmage, Naas and South Dublin.

The difference between Kendlebell and other providers is the very personalised nature of the business,the quality of the Kendlebell team and the dynamic and innovative tracking systems. Our Team

Tom Shanahan

Managing Director & Owner

Tom is Managing Director and 100% owner of Kendlebell in Ireland. He has a BBS from Trinity, is a member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Tom qualified as a chartered accountant in KPMG.

Before setting up Kendlebell in Ireland, he held senior general management positions within large companies in Ireland. He was Chief Executive of Eirpage, Director of European Wireless Operations for Motorola and Managing Director of Software Paths and Zomax in Ireland. Tom owns the master Franchise for Kendlebell in Ireland since 2006 as well as being MD of Kendlebell in Fairview.

Michelle Smyth

Office Manager

Michelle started in Kendlebell in November 2010 as a PA. Michelle has proven to be outstanding in all areas of customer service, with a great ability to learn quickly. Right from the start, she showed good leadership qualities and was promoted to Assistant Manager in November 2011 and Office Manager in March 2015. Michelle is responsible for managing the staff and providing a quality service to our clients.


All of our Personal Assistants ( PAs) are highly trained to enable them to supply a quality service to our clients. This involves systems training, call answering technique and a detailed level of training to become familiar with each of our clients individual requirements. All PAs are natural English speakers, usually from Ireland. They are trained to go over and above for our clients, often becoming very familiar with our clients and, more importantly, their customers. They often act as the front face of our clients to their customers and , therefore, need to be friendly and efficient when answering our client’s calls.
